EGS Electrical Group’s Industrial Pipe Tracing cables keep water flowing at low ambient temperatures and withstand high temperatures, in solutions suitable for damp, corrosive and hazardous locations. EGS Electrical Group’s Thermostats and Controls for automatic control of heating cables and panels - we offer mechanical thermostats that respond to ambient temperature or the temperature at the pipe. Nelson Heat Trace Connection Kits for Heating Cables, in each of the three basic kit types is available in a series intended for specific applications, regions and locations.

Applications include industrial pipe tracing, viscosity maintenance, frost heave prevention, vessel and tank heating and hot water temperature maintenance.

Heating Cables
Our selection of pipe tracing cables and controls includes solutions for every industrial heating application. We offer the power densities you require at the voltages you use to maintain the heat levels you require. We build cables that keep water flowing at ambient temperatures as low as -40°C and cables that withstand temperatures up to 593°C. We supply cables and controls suitable for damp, corrosive and hazardous locations. EGS Electrical Group offers cables in extended, continuous lengths. We provide software and expertise to make selecting the right pipe tracing solution easy.
  • Available for both 120 Vac and 240 Vac applications in a wide range of power densities from 10 to 60 W/m at 10°C
  • Parallel-resistance design allows cables to be Cut-to-Length in the field with no danger of creating cold or dead zones
  • These cables can be used in dry or wet environments
  • Metal braid with a fluoropolymer overjacket resists moisture, corrosion and solvents
  • UL Listed, CSA Certified and FM Approved; ATEX/IECEx Certified when used with approved termination accessories

Industrial Thermostats
For automatic control of heating cables and panels, we offer mechanical thermostats that respond to ambient temperature or the temperature at the pipe. For finer control than can be achieved with an On/Off thermostat, we also offer microprocessor based temperature controls that include features such as remote temperature probes, temperature alarms, heater monitoring and communications. Models are available for ordinary, corrosive and hazardous locations in a variety of voltages and temperature ranges to suit any requirement.
  • Thermostats available with a die-cast aluminum NEMA 4X enclosure suitable for installation in corrosive environments
  • UL Listed, FM Approved, CSA Certified and ATEX Certified for use in hazardous locations
  • Maintains the temperature within a selectable range up to 538°C with a calibration accuracy of ±1%. 120 Vac control power is required
  • Stainless steel capillary included as option for temperature sensing
  • Available a 240V/22A double-pole, single-throw switch designed to break both legs of a phase-to-phase heating circuit

Connection Kits for Heating Cables
Power Connections, Splices, Tees, Seals and Accessories for Self-Regulating and Constant-Wattage Heating Cables. Most Nelson heating cables are Cut-to-Length and assembled in the field. These systems require kits for connecting to the power supply, configuring multiple cables and sealing electrical components from the surrounding environment.
  • Aluminum and nonmetallic connection kits for use with all approved nelson heating cables
  • M25 or 0.75" NPT Threads
  • Zone 1 and Zone 2 Hazardous Locations
  • Nonmetallic kits provide excellent chemical resistance and are rated IP66/NEMA 4X
